Two Drug Dealers Arrested with Yaba and Ice in Teknaf, Motorcycle Seized

In separate operations, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel from the 2nd BGB Battalion in Teknaf arrested two drug traffickers with yaba and crystal meth (Ice), and seized a motorcycle.

According to sources, on November 7th, at around 6:15 PM, BGB personnel at the Shilkhali temporary checkpoint in Teknaf stopped a suspicious motorcycle heading towards Cox’s Bazar. Upon questioning, the rider, Syed Amin (36), son of Omar Mia from Sabran Ali’s village in Daile, confessed to having hidden 2,700 yaba pills in a hidden compartment beneath the chain cover of the motorcycle. In addition to the motorcycle, a mobile phone was also seized from the suspect.

Meanwhile, on the same day, at around 6:45 PM, based on intelligence that a drug shipment was likely coming from Myanmar, BGB patrol units from the Dammadmiya BOP took strategic positions near the Naf River and surrounding areas. A suspect was spotted crossing the Naf River carrying a bag and heading towards the Boroitli area. Acting on suspicion, the BGB team intercepted and arrested Mohammad Abdur Rahman (45), son of the late Ferdous from Boroitli village. Upon searching the bag, 1.060 kg of crystal meth (Ice) was found.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mohiuddin Ahmed (BGBMS), the Commander of 2nd BGB Battalion, confirmed that the seized yaba, motorcycle, mobile phone, and Ice were handed over to the Teknaf Model Police Station for further legal action.
