Dhaka – In a move to unify prayer schedules and alleviate confusion among worshippers, the Islamic Foundation of Bangladesh has announced that Jumma (Friday) prayers should be held at 1:30 PM across all mosques in the country.

The directive, issued on Sunday, emphasizes the significance of Friday as a day of communal gathering, often referred to as a weekly Eid. The foundation highlighted that varying Jumma prayer times—ranging from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM in different mosques—have led to difficulties for many, especially travelers and pedestrians.

To address this issue, the Islamic Foundation has called upon mosque authorities nationwide to standardize the Jumma prayer time at 1:30 PM. They have urged divisional and district-level administrations to implement this schedule uniformly to ensure consistency and convenience for all worshippers.

This initiative aims to foster unity and facilitate better planning for congregants attending Friday prayers across Bangladesh.
