Meeting Held by Secchasebak Dal in Dimla’s Gayabari Union

A meeting was held by the Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteers’ Party (BNV) at Gayabari Union, Dimla, Nilphamari, under the slogan “Service Unity Progress – The Principle of Volunteerism.”

The meeting took place on Wednesday evening (February 5) at the largest market of Gayabari Union, Shootibari Hat. The meeting was conducted by Gayabari Union Volunteer Party’s General Secretary, Tahibul Islam, and presided over by Union Volunteer Party President, Abdul Mannan. The chief guest was the President of Dimla Upazila BNP, Principal Monowar Hossain.

The main speaker at the meeting was Badiuzzaman Rana, the General Secretary of Dimla Upazila BNP. The opening speech was delivered by Mizanur Rahman Shobuj, the Convener of the Upazila Volunteer Party. Other speakers included the Secretary of Dimla Upazila Volunteer Party, Md. Alamgir Kabir Prince, and Joint Convener Md. Enamul Haque Reza.

Special guests included Senior Vice-President of Dimla Upazila BNP, Md. Arif-ul-Islam Liton; Vice-President Aminuzzaman Gazi; Organizing Secretary Md. Golam Rabbani Pradhan; Gayabari Union BNP President Md. Mahbub Alam; General Secretary Md. Mostak Ahmed Liton; Joint General Secretary Golam Rabbani; and Organizing Secretary Wazed Ali.

In his speech, the chief guest highlighted the struggles under the authoritarian regime of Sheikh Hasina, claiming that even peaceful rallies and distributing leaflets were met with aggression from the police. He described how the Awami League’s suppression had tormented the people of Bangladesh and turned the country into a hostage state under Hasina’s leadership.

Other speakers emphasized that the hard-fought freedom of the students and the public could be lost if democracy is not restored. They called for an end to violence and stated that those responsible for violence should not be allowed to organize in Bangladesh. The responsibility of ensuring the fundamental rights of the people, they said, should be taken up by the largest political party, the BNP.

The speakers also condemned the corruption, murders, and oppression under Sheikh Hasina’s regime, calling for justice for these actions. They called for the election of Engineer Shahrin Islam Chowdhury Tuhin, the nephew of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, in the Domar-Dimla seat with a large majority in the upcoming elections.

The meeting concluded with a call for unity among the party workers to strengthen the leadership of Tarique Rahman, the future leader of Bangladesh, and to continue pushing forward both the party and the country.
